A DULL HEART

“So David waxed greater and greater: for the Lord of hosts was with him.”

1 Chronicles 11: 9 King James Version

As I was waxing my bathroom and hallway this morning, this verse came to my mind. There are many times our hearts grow dull and lose their shine. Sometimes it is because of heartbreaking circumstances, and sometimes it is because someone has said something critical and the arrow pierced our hearts.

All of us have times in our lives when trials seem to engulf us with despair and as badly as we want to sparkle for Jesus, our hearts are dull with despair. It is these times that we need one another. If you are hurting and are facing a situation that you just can’t face alone, ask Jesus to help you, and ask Him to give you a trusted friend to help you bear the burden.

This verse says that David waxed greater and greater because the Lord was with him. Jesus will be with us through every heartache and trial. We may not feel it when we are hurting, but He is Faithful. Jesus has told us that He will never leave us. Our loved ones and friends may leave us, but Jesus will never leave us. You can depend on Jesus to keep His Word.

If your heart is dull today with heartaches and heavy burdens, give them to Jesus. He Loves you and wants to see you happy. He Loves you so much that He stretched out His Precious Arms and allowed the soldiers to fasten them to the Old Rugged Cross. Just as my floors are shiny and bright now, so your heart will once again be shiny and bright through the Love of our Dear Saviour.
