A FAMILY CHRISTMAS

"Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

Joshua 24:14,15 King James Version

We have a choice to make on Christmas Day. We can choose to fellowship with Jesus and with each other, or we can turn on the television and watch movies and sports. There is nothing wrong with watching television unless it comes before the time you spend with Jesus and your family.

When I was growing up, we never had a Family Christmas of spending time with Jesus. I remember stringing popcorn to put on the Christmas Tree, but I don’t remember the Christmas Story, the Birth of Jesus, being read to us.

How do you spend the time on Christmas Day with your family? Is Jesus put first before anything or anyone? Do you read from the Bible about the Birth of the Christ Child to your children?

Jesus said that we are to choose this day who we will serve. We can either serve Jesus or we can serve the gods of this world. It would be a wonderful Birthday Gift for Jesus if you and your family would say, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord".
