A KNOCK OF LOVE

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

Revelation 3: 20 King James Version

Jesus is knocking at the door of our hearts and is waiting for us to give Him an invitation to enter and save us. Not only is He knocking to give us forgiveness for our sins, He is knocking for us to make Him the Master of our lives. He wants to fellowship with us. He wants to share our burdens and our joys.

He tells us that He will never leave us or forsake us. He will be with us in the times of heartache and despair and comfort us. He will be with us when we are happy and rejoice with us. We can go to Him any time day or night and never need an appointment or have to stand in line. What a precious promise from the Saviour of the world!

Sometimes He knocks to get our attention because He wants to tell us something. Often, we don’t realize that He is knocking and we miss His instructions to us. It is the same when we pray, we can get so involved in telling Him what we would like Him to do that we don’t give Him a chance to talk to us or even comfort us.

Have you answered the knock of Jesus at the door of your heart for salvation? Has there ever been a time in your life when you made a heart commitment to the Christ of Calvary? Is He the Master of your life? Does He come before your job, your loved ones and your friends? Everything that we say or do should be to draw others closer to Jesus.
