A LITTLE BABY

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

1 Corinthians 13: 11 King James Version

I was talking to a very close friend on the phone today and I told her that when I used to go for a walk with my baby in her stroller, everybody would look at her and smile and tell me that she was beautiful. The reason we smile at babies and want to be around them is because they don’t hurt you with cruel words. They are innocent babies.

This verse tells us that we need to grow spiritually. However, we need to go back and act like a child in our actions and words to one another. I received five emails today from people whose hearts are breaking because of cruel words that were said to them.

O that we would become like children in our attitudes and thoughts. We need to stop being so suspicious and reading something into everything someone says or does. Many times when someone tells us that he or she loves us, our immediate reaction is “What does he or she want from me”.

We need to accept love when it is extended to us because for some people it is extremely hard to tell someone “I love you” for fear of being rejected or ridiculed. We need to be showing the Love of Jesus to everyone we meet.

What about you today? Have you become cynical and suspicious of everybody? Let’s become as innocent babies in our words and actions to one another.
