ALLOW THE TEARS

"Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!"

John 11: 32-26 King James Version

We have given the impression to men that it is not manly to cry. That is not true because Jesus cried! A lot of men hide their feelings because they have been conditioned to believe that they should not cry. I submit to you on the Authority of the Word of God that if Jesus cried, it is okay for a man to cry. We need to stop criticizing men for crying.

When my Mother died, one of my friends who claims to be a Christian told me that I should not cry because my family would be watching me to see how I reacted. In the first place, that friend did not love Jesus or she would have hugged me and cried with me. My heart was breaking and because I had been told that I shouldn’t cry, I held all the anguish and grief in my heart.

If the person who has died has made a heart commitment to Jesus, then we know that we will see him or her again, that is, if we are saved. We are not crying because we won’t see him or her again. We are crying because we love that person.

People who tell you that you should not cry when a loved one dies do not know the Heart of Jesus. Please reach out and comfort one another with the Love of Jesus during these times of heartache and grief.
