ALL WE NEED

“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”

Isaiah 55:1 King James Version

In the last three weeks, I have received more emails and telephone calls from people who are hurting emotionally and financially than I have in the last year. I used to think that I was the only one hurting and my sister would tell me that there is always someone worse off than you. She was so right.

I said many times if I have bread, milk, and Pepsi, then I can handle anything and go without other groceries. Since I allowed Jesus to fill my heart with His Unconditional Love, I don’t even have to have those items to handle things. Jesus is all I need. It is nice to have a lot of groceries and have extra money to buy things I want, but as long as I have the assurance that Jesus Loves me, I can face tomorrow.

Several months ago a pastor emailed me and said that even pastors hurt emotionally and need encouragement. Sometimes, we neglect to tell our pastors and their wives how much we appreciate them. I would encourage you the next time you see your pastor and wife to express your gratitude for their service to Jesus, and for their service to you.

When someone is hurting, the most effective remedy is a hug from someone who really cares. If we are unable to hug them in person, we can pick up the phone or send an email and tell them we love and appreciate them. Yes, Jesus is all we need, but He expects you and me to extend His Love to others so that they will also feel His Peace, the Peace that passes all understanding.
