What a power packed and victorious passage of Scripture! Jesus, our precious and wonderful Saviour, is going to return for us and we will be with Him for all eternity. Not only do these verses bring comfort to me; they also bring peace and assurance to my heart. Different people have taken me to places in the past and left me promising me that they would come back to take me home when I called them and told them that I was ready to go home. The people who promised to take me back home never came to take me home and I had to call a taxi. As a result, I am very reluctant to go places because I’m afraid I won’t get back home.
When Jesus comes back for us, I won’t have to be concerned about someone taking me back home because I will already be home. I have a mansion waiting for me that Jesus Himself has decorated with love. I will not only see my adorable and sweet Saviour, I will be with Him forever. I will never be parted from Him for all eternity.
What joy, what happiness, what gratitude and what peace flood my heart when I think of this glorious day! When I think of being with Him for all eternity I get so excited that my heart starts beating faster and I have to force myself to stop thinking about that day because it feels like I am going to have a heart attack. This is the greatest day we have to look forward to; spending eternity with the one who loves us so much that He died for us. Dear Jesus, how I long to see You face to face.
I live in a two bedroom trailer but it is a haven of refuge for me. When I come home after I have gone to the grocery store or somewhere on business, I know that I will smell the fragrance of Jesus when I open my door. I will feel His presence fresh and anew. Jesus is always with me no matter where I go because He lives in my heart but this world is so full of corruption which stinks in the nostrils of Jesus that I can’t smell Him when I am away from home.
It’s hard to smell the fragrance of Jesus when so many things are going on in the world that bring shame and dishonor to His precious name. It’s also very difficult to hear Jesus talking to me when I am in a car with someone who has the radio so loud that it makes my ears hurt.
Not only is the radio so loud that it hurts my ears, but the person is playing music that hurts Jesus and turns people away from Him instead of drawing people to Him. Everything that we do or say should draw people to Jesus. If it doesn’t, we need to stop doing and saying these things immediately!
When Jesus comes back for us, are you going home with Him or will you be left behind? Have you made a reservation in Heaven through the precious atoning blood of Jesus that He shed for us on the cross of Calvary? Have you confessed your sins, asked Jesus to forgive you and come into your heart to be your personal Saviour? If not, I urge you, I plead with you to do it right this minute! Please don’t put it off because you may not have tomorrow or even another hour. Don’t be left behind when Jesus comes back for us.
