There are times when we grumble and are not satisfied. My air conditioner froze and I had to shut it off so it would unthaw. I had fans so even though I wasn’t as cool as I would like, it wasn’t as bad as last year when the hurricanes hit and the electricity and water were off. Even then, instead of feeling sorry for myself I could have thanked Jesus for His Love.
We must hurt Jesus a lot with our complaining. He does so much for us every day. For those of us who have difficulty breathing at times, we are especially thankful for the air He provides for us. I don’t think we realize or have ever really stopped to think about all that He does for us and has provided for us. There is always something for which we can praise Him.
Last year I wrote down all the things that He has provided for me. I filled three pieces of typing paper and still had more to write. I never did finish putting everything down because His blessings are so many that it is impossible to count them. As I sit here at my keyboard typing this, I look at my fingers and thank Him that I have fingers to type. I have a bed to sleep on, food to eat, clothes and shoes to wear, the best family in the world, and I have the Love of the Saviour of the world.
If you are going through a difficult time right now and can’t find anything to praise Him for, just thank Him for Loving you. It’s time that we start giving Him the appreciation and gratitude that He so richly deserves.
