AN EMOTIONAL DEATH

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Psalm 147: 3 King James Version

All of us are guilty of hurting someone emotionally. That is a strong statement, but Jesus wouldn’t have to heal the broken in heart if we didn’t hurt them emotionally. Before I made a heart commitment to Jesus, I am sure that I killed a lot of people emotionally. The tragic thing is that a lot of the times we don’t even realize we have hurt them, but yet by our judgmental, critical, and harsh words we do it every day.

Every time that we say something unkind to people, it makes them feel less secure. When we make a promise, we need to keep it. When I was in the hospital, a nurse told me that she would come visit me when I was discharged. She was trying to cheer me up and coax me out of my depression. I believed her and that started me talking again. However, when I got out of the hospital she never called or came to see me.

We get very upset and angry when we read about a person being killed, especially if it is an older person or a child. We need to get that upset and angry when we see someone killing someone emotionally. We need to be careful that we don’t hurt someone emotionally.

The only medicine for a broken heart is the Love of Jesus. Only Jesus can heal the broken in heart. Only Jesus can wipe away the tears from our hearts. We need to be careful what we say to others because when we break someone’s heart, we are breaking the Heart of Jesus.
