Every morning when we wake up if we have been gloriously saved through the atoning cleansing blood of the Christ of Calvary we should have a new song in our hearts, a song of praise to the one who gave His life so that we can be saved and live with Him for eternity. I have made this statement several times “This is the best day of my life”. This is how I really feel most of the time. Each new day that Jesus gives me, I realize anew how much He loves me and that causes my heart to rejoice. How can we not be joyful and happy when the Saviour of the world loves us!
I have been told several times that I can’t sing, at least not according to the world’s standards, but we are told to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. When I sing to Him, it is definitely a noise but it is also joyful. I remember years ago when I lived in Oklahoma I wanted to join the choir at church and I asked the choir director if he needed any more members. He said “If I let you join the choir, you would be singing off key and cause the ones around you to also sing off key”. I have never forgotten what he told me that Wednesday night. It broke my heart and it made me self conscious to even join the congregation when they were singing.
All of us can find something for which to thank and praise Jesus. If you can’t think of anything, thank Him that you’re able to feed yourself, dress yourself and get in and out of bed by yourself because there are a lot of people who are unable to do those things by themselves. We take Jesus for granted most of the time because we don’t even think about thanking Him every day for all the things we are able to do for ourselves. Yet, if something happened and we couldn’t take care of ourselves, we would probably pray every day and ask Him to heal us.
Do you know this beautiful Jesus? Do you have a personal relationship with Him? Have you humbled yourself, admitted that you are a sinner and on your way to hell for all eternity? If not, I urge you, I plead with you to do it now before it is too late. For some of us, there won’t be a tomorrow, or even another hour. Give your heart and life to the one who gave His life for you on a cross of horror and torture. You will have a peace and joy in your heart that you have never known.
