A PRAYER OF HAPPINESS

“If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.”

1 Peter 4: 14 King James Version

There are times when we are unable to pray because we have a heavy burden. On July 7th, my birthday, when I went to bed that night and started to talk to Jesus, I couldn’t say anything and not because I was sad, but because I was so happy. My family had come to celebrate my birthday with me and that filled my heart with happiness.

I started to say Jesus to begin talking to Him and I didn’t even get His name out before I began laughing. I tried to stop so I could talk to Him but all I could do was laugh. It was a prayer of laughter to Jesus filled with gratitude and appreciation for all He had done for me that week. Just as God understands when we can’t pray due to our hearts being so burdened, He understood what I was trying to convey to Him that night.

I receive emails that are full of criticism and it used to make me cry. However, when I realized that it was just satan trying to discourage me and keep me from serving Jesus, he can no longer discourage me in that manner. Of course, it hurts because I am human and nobody likes to be criticized and called names. Yet, none of us have ever or will ever be criticized and ridiculed like Jesus was when He was here on earth. The tragic thing is, He is still being criticized and ridiculed today.

If you want to have a happiness that you have never known, dedicate your life in full time service to Jesus. To do that, you must first know the Christ of Calvary. Have you asked Jesus to forgive you and be your personal Saviour?
