A RENEWED STRENGTH

“Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.”

Isaiah 41: 1 King James Version

There are times when we get weary and our strength is gone. We lose our enthusiasm and determination. We pray and ask Jesus to renew our strength and encourage us so that we can continue doing the things He has called us to do. He tells in this verse that we need to be silent before Him. So often, we do all the talking when we pray and don’t give Him a chance to say anything.

When we pray, we are having a conversation with Him. We should state our requests, but then we need to be quiet and let Him talk. We will not be effective soldiers for Jesus if we are weak. There are times when we just need to be quiet before Him. Have you ever gone to Him and said thank You without asking Him for anything? Just as it makes our parents happy when we thank them for something, it makes Jesus happy when we say thank You without asking Him for something.

There are many people who don’t know Jesus and have never invited Him into their hearts to be their Saviour and they need us to tell them about His Love. If we go around with a discouraged look on our faces most of the time, it will be impossible to tell them about the joy of serving Jesus. It is a privilege and a joy to serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

If you are feeling weak, allow Jesus to strengthen you. He will walk beside you and be your encourager. He will comfort and strengthen you. He Loves you so much that He died for you.
