A SMILE ON HIS FACE

“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.”

Luke 2: 40 - 43 King James Version

One day about two years ago while I was praying I saw Jesus smiling. Once you have seen the smile on the face of our precious Saviour it will change your priorities in life forever. From that day until this day, my only desire in life is to make Jesus happy and to see Him smile. I believe with all of my heart that the only time Jesus was happy when He was here on earth was when He was a little boy and was with His family. I think Mary and Joseph loved Jesus very much and were very kind to Him.

Jesus endured so much ridicule, criticism, pain and rejection while He was here on earth, there is no way that He could have been happy. I do believe, however, when He held a little child on His lap that He was very happy. Today, as He holds us on His lap, I believe He smiles at us and is very happy.

He longs to fellowship with us and it thrills His heart when we go to Him and talk to Him. So many times when we pray, we ask Him to do something for us. I think it would make Him very happy if we would just go to Him several times throughout the day and tell Him how much we love Him and appreciate Him without asking Him for something.

Are you making Jesus happy or are you making Him sad? Is making Jesus happy your first priority before anyone or anything? Jesus tells us “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40). We can make Jesus happy and put a smile on His face by being kind and loving to people. It’s time that we start making Jesus happy. He has suffered enough and He deserves to be happy. Be kind and loving to people in your words and actions and you will see Jesus smiling.
