A WOUNDED HEART

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5 King James Version

Jesus was beaten cruelly for us and wounded, but His Heart was also beaten and wounded. The tragic thing is that today His Heart is still being wounded by the things we say and the way that we treat one another.

I suffered many years of extreme depression and suicidal thoughts and had no desire to live. However, as devastating as that pain was all those years, it is only a half fingernail compared to the excruciating pain and heartache that Jesus went through for us.

Every person that has ever lived, except for Jesus, is rotten all the way through. None of us are any good. It takes the Precious Blood of Jesus applied to our hearts to cleanse us from our selfishness, jealousy, anger, hatred, bitterness, backbiting, and criticism.

They beat Jesus and He had never sinned one time, had never done anything wrong. I have heard people give testimonies and say, “I’m glad I wasn’t one of them that beat Jesus the day He died for us”. Every one of us has beaten Jesus in one way or the other. We may not have been there to physically beat Him, however by our actions and words to one another, we continue to beat Him and wound His Heart.

O that we would fall in love with Jesus of Nazareth! May God forgive us for our cruel words and actions and for breaking His Heart.
