CALL NOW

“Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”

Psalm 50: 14, 15 King James Version

When I got up this morning, I answered three emails and closed my email program. I went to get a drink of water and came back and opened my email program and was unable to connect. I tried connecting to the internet and it wouldn’t connect either so I reset my modem hoping that would solve the issue. It didn’t help because I was still unable to sign on so I immediately called my internet provider and reported the problem.

Jesus tells us to call upon Him in the day of trouble and He will deliver us. Yet, many times we try to solve the situation on our own and we are not able to fix it. If we would come to the realization that without Jesus we are powerless, we would have a lot less frustration and heartaches. The world tells us that we should fix things ourselves; Jesus tells us to come to Him. Who are we going to listen to and obey, Jesus or the world?

There are hotlines for us to call if we are feeling depressed and suicidal and we should use them if necessary. However, they are only a temporary solution. Jesus provides a lasting solution by giving us His Love and salvation, not only from our sins, but from our depression and heartaches. Jesus has promised us that He will never leave us or forsake us. What a precious promise of love from the Heart of our Saviour!

Are you in the middle of a crisis? Have you cried out to Jesus and asked Him to help you? We are to share our burdens with others because He has told us to bear one another’s burdens, but He is the only one who can give us a permanent solution.
