COME BACK

“And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”

Luke 15: 20 King James Version

I’m reading a book about a family. The son left home and has been gone for two years. The mother and dad are very upset and miss him a lot. The dad said that if and when the son comes back home, they would have to sit down and discuss why he left home and did the things that he did. The mother got angry at the dad and said that was probably the reason why the son did not come back home and that she would welcome him with open arms with no questions asked.

Our Saviour is waiting with a heart filled with love and open arms to welcome us back when we stray from Him. He doesn’t ask a lot of questions. He simply hugs us and welcomes us back. He Loves us so much that He hung on the old rugged cross for us. What amazing Love from the heart of our Saviour!

Just as Jesus has compassion on us when we hurt Him, we need to have compassion on our families, loved ones and friends when they hurt us. We need to remember that just as they hurt us, we also hurt them. Many times we hurt someone and don’t even realize it. If Jesus has compassion for us, how it must break His heart when we won’t forgive the ones who have hurt us.

Have you stopped serving Jesus and are living as you used to live before you dedicated your life to Him? If so, He is waiting with open arms and a loving heart to welcome you back. Go back home to Jesus and you will have a peace in your heart once again.
