As I was washing the dishes this morning that were dirty once again, the thought came to me that our hearts also become dirty again. For those of us who have made a heart commitment to Jesus, asked Him to forgive us for our sins, cleanse us and come into our hearts to be our personal Saviour, we are saved and born again into the family of God. The blood of Jesus has been applied to our hearts and lives and we are clean because we were washed as white as snow through the redemptive blood of Jesus.
However, because of the corrupt and sinful world that we live in and being attacked daily, and sometimes hourly, by the poison of satan, we allow our hearts to be filled with things that displease Jesus and they become dirty again. Our hearts become bitter and hardened because of being hurt so much. We become critical, sarcastic, and judgmental and say and do things that Jesus has commanded us not to do or say. It is very important that we allow Jesus to give our hearts a checkup every day to be certain that we don’t have things in our hearts that displease Him and hurt Him. Have you had your checkup with the great physician, Jesus, today? If not, don’t put it off because the longer we allow the poison of satan and the world to build up in our hearts, the harder our hearts become.
