DOES IT ENCOURAGE

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

Ephesians 4: 29 King James Version

It is very important to not say things that are discouraging to each other. If we are saying things that we know will discourage someone, that is against what we read in this verse. If what we are saying does not encourage someone, we should not say it.

A lot of times we think that it is our responsibility to lecture people about what they believe. That is God’s Responsibility. We are to pray for one another. God has given us pastors to lead us, guide us, instruct us, and shepherd us. We are to be in submission to our pastors because they will give an account for our souls.

Many times, we just want to show off our knowledge of the Bible. We need to be quiet and pray for each other because only Jesus can change a person’s heart. When we stand before God, we will give an account for every harsh and critical word we have said to one another.

Have you said harsh and critical words to someone about what they believe? If so, not only are you hurting that person, you are making Jesus unhappy. If we would concentrate more on making sure our hearts are right before God, we wouldn’t have so much time to criticize each other.
