EVERY DAY

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

Hebrews 10:26 King James Version

I am not able to go to church any more due to my arthritis and not being able to sit on the folding chairs or in the pews. However, all the years that I did attend church was just a show for others. It is the accepted thing to do and I didn’t want anyone to criticize or ridicule me. As soon as I walked out of the church, I went right on living the same way.

I had heard sermons preached about repentance, but I never really listened to what it meant. True repentance is being sorry for your sins and asking Jesus to forgive you, and then stop doing those things. It means to make a complete change in the way you live your life. We are powerless to change ourselves. It takes the Precious Blood of Jesus applied to our hearts to change us.

Someone asked me a couple of days ago if I went to church, and I told her that I was unable to go because of my arthritis. I told her that I have church every day. If we aren’t having church every day in our hearts, then going to church is just a show for others.

We need to be praising God, singing, and praying every day to Him in our hearts. We need to be fellowshipping with Jesus every day. How about you today? Are you having church every day in your heart, or are you just putting on a show for others?
