EVERYONE

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

James 4: 17 King James Version

How many times have we heard on the news or read in the paper about someone being killed? We get upset and angry and think that they ought to lock the person up that did it and throw away the key, or he or she should be given the maximum sentence. What would happen to us if Jesus locked us up or gave us the maximum sentence of hell every time that we say something harsh or sarcastic to people?

We think that some sins are worse than the others, but this verse says if we know to do good and don’t do it, then we are sinning. Everyone of us knows to say kind things to people. We know that we are to be encouragers and spread the Love of Jesus to everyone we see. However, many times we don’t do what Jesus has commanded us to do.

All of us can send someone an email, write a letter, call someone or go visit that person. We get so involved in our daily schedules that we don’t make time for Jesus. We need to pray as soon as we get up and ask Him what He wants us to do. What we have planned to do may not be what He wants us to do that day. Why is it that we have no problem getting up very early in the morning when we are going on a trip, but we aren’t able to get up early to spend time with Jesus? How that must break the Heart of our Saviour!

If God lays something on our hearts and tells us to do it and we don’t do it, then we are sinning. He has told us to tell people about Jesus. Are you telling your family, loved ones and friends about Him? Do they know that you love Jesus?
