FEELING GUILTY

“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”

Ninety percent of the time I am so happy and so full of joy, peace, contentment and excitement that I feel like I’m going to explode. However, I sometimes feel guilty for being so happy when I think about all of the excruciating pain, heartaches and sorrow that Jesus had to endure so that I may have this joy and happiness. Yet, I know that He wants us to be happy.

There have been many times that I have cried thinking about the way that Jesus was treated when He was here on earth and how He was beaten, spat upon, cursed, mocked, ridiculed, rejected and crucified for me. I don’t deserve His love. None of us deserve His unconditional love, mercy, grace, tenderness, forgiveness, compassion and kindness. My heart breaks when I think about the way that He is still being criticized and rejected every day by many people.

Yes, our salvation is free to us. There is nothing that we could have done to earn it and even if we had all the money in the world we couldn’t have bought it. However, our salvation was very expensive for Jesus. He purchased our salvation with His own blood. It cost Him everything; His very life. Not only did He die for us physically; He died for us emotionally. He gathered all of our discouragements, problems, griefs and crises in His heart as He hung there for us. There is no greater love than the love of our precious Saviour!

He died as a suffering Saviour but He arose as a victorious Saviour and King. He conquered death and made a way for us to be saved and live with Him for all eternity. Hallelujah to the King of kings and the Lord of Lords! Worthy is the Lamb of God! He is the beautiful Rose of Sharon and the fairest of ten thousand. He is the Lily of the valley and the bright and morning star. There is no other name as precious and as sweet as the name of Jesus!

He defeated satan and death and if we have accepted Him as our personal Saviour and His precious cleansing and atoning blood has been applied to our hearts then we are under His protection and all hell can’t harm us or take away the peace that He gives us! The world can’t give us this peace and the world can’t take it away. Only Jesus can bring light to our hearts that are dark with sorrow and heartaches. Only Jesus can put a smile on our faces and laughter in our hearts even in the midst of very difficult situations and crises.

Whatever problems, heartaches, crises and burdens you have today, Jesus is the answer. He not only is our answer; He is our solution to everything in this life. There is absolutely nothing that He can’t fix. He can take the most hardened heart and melt it into a softened heart that is filled with the unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion that He wants us to have for others. Thank You, Jesus, for paying such a horrible price for our salvation. You are wonderful, Jesus, and I love You with all of my heart.
