FROM A HEART OF LOVE

“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

Matthew 25: 40 King James Version

I have received emails from people saying that their ministry was being criticized. I have told them “If you are serving Jesus, and He has told you to say it, then do not back down”. We need to understand that every time we say something critical to someone, we are saying it to Jesus. Every time we say something nice to someone, we are saying it to Jesus.

We have a choice to make in the way we talk and the way we treat people. Are we making Jesus happy or sad by our words and actions? When we see Jesus face to face, will we be ashamed of the way we have treated people? If we would ever grasp this verse in our hearts, I think we would be a lot nicer to people.

If we honestly think someone is mistaken, then we need to ask Jesus to show it to that person. We can’t change anyone, only Jesus can change a person’s heart. If we are responding out of self righteousness, then that is the wrong motive. We need to be responding from a heart of love for others just as Jesus responds to us from a Heart of Love.

If we are truly concerned about one another, we will pray for each other. I am just as guilty of this as everyone else. I need to pray for the person who is attacking me. Let’s never forget that when we hurt others, we are hurting Jesus.
