GET UP

"For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat."

Hebrews 5:12 King James Version

There were many years when all I did was warm the pew that I sat on in church. I didn’t read the Bible at home and didn’t pray. I still needed to be taught. There comes a time when we need to get up from the pew and teach someone else.

There are people who have just accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour and they need someone to encourage, nurture, and disciple them. If we are still drinking milk, we will be unable to help anyone.

It is a lot easier and safer to just sit in the pew and let others do the work that Jesus has called us to do. When we start serving Jesus, satan immediately comes against us with criticism and doubts.

We are to learn from those in authority that God has set over us. We need to be in submission to our pastor. We need to encourage our pastors and pray for them daily.

Are you still drinking milk and warming the pew, or are you eating meat and helping new Christians? The person sitting next to you in church may need encouragement and God may want to use you.
