GOD’S BRIDGE OF SAFETY

“Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.”

Psalm 69: 1 – 3 King James Version

For almost six hours yesterday satan attacked me with lies by telling me that I was no good and he tried to make me believe that Jesus doesn’t Love me. Even though I know that Jesus Loves me the attack was still painful. I asked my best friend to pray for me and Jesus put His arms around me and held me close to His heart. He whispered to me softly and gently “Don’t be afraid, Joanne. I Love you and will never leave you. I will protect you from all harm and danger”.

There are times when the deep waters of despair, heartache, criticism, sarcasm and rejection pull us under the water and we are helpless to swim to safety, climb up on the bridge or even pray. It is then that we need to ask a trusted friend to pray for us and help us climb the bridge of safety to Jesus. God’s bridge of safety is a bridge erected from the blood that Jesus shed for us on a cruel cross of agony and torture.

If you feel like you are about to go under the water for the last time, swallow your pride and ask someone to pray for you. It is very important that we only ask someone who will not judge us, criticize us or condemn us. We need to ask someone who we trust and love. I don’t know about you but it is very difficult for me to ask for help of any kind. God is still working on that area of my life. Are you sinking today? If so climb up on the bridge of safety into the strong protective arms of Jesus!
