When God called me to be a missionary on October 4, 1998, this is the Scripture that He gave me for my calling. Since I spent the first half of my life in despair, torment, and heartache, He knew that I would be able to relate well to those who are going through trials. God has given me the gift of encouragement.
All of us have a gift from God. We just need to ask Him what it is and then use it for His Glory. You may not be called to be a missionary, a teacher, a writer, a speaker, a singer, or a preacher, but there is something that God has for you to do for Him.
Some of the most important things that we can do for God at a church are maintenance, cleaning, and cooking. Then there are the people who fold the bulletins and send out the newsletters. There are those who are the Pastor’s prayer partners. These people are vital to the Kingdom of God.
God never called anyone to just sit on the pew and warm it. He called us to witness to others. You may be uncomfortable witnessing to others, but the greatest witness anyone can give is the way you live your life. Are you using the gift God has given you, or are you just sitting down and waiting for others to do the work?
