When we take a picture with a camera, we try and focus the subject in the center of the screen. God is taking a picture of our hearts with His camera but He isn’t focusing like we do; He is looking to see if the atoning blood of the Christ of Calvary has been applied to our hearts. He doesn’t look on the outside as we do; He looks on the inside.
All of us need Jesus, the great Physician. We were lost in our sins and on our way to an eternity apart from Him. Without Him, nothing makes sense in this world that has turned away from Him. The world can never satisfy the longings in our heart for acceptance, love and kindness. Our families, loved ones and friends can encourage and love us but only Jesus can quench the hunger in our hearts for peace, joy and forgiveness.
I have the best family in the world. I have many friends that I love dearly and we share, laugh and cry together. However, nothing compares to the joy that floods my heart when I go to bed and lay in the arms of my Beloved Saviour. He holds me close to His heart and rocks me to sleep while singing softly in my ear “I Love you, Joanne. I will never leave you, not even for a minute”. There is no greater joy than being with Jesus.
When Jesus looks through the lens of His camera into your heart, what does He see? Does He see a heart filled with love for others, or does He see a heart filled with unforgiveness, anger and bitterness? Has His atoning blood washed your heart?
