GOD’S FILING CABINET

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Revelation 20: 15 King James Version

Did you know that God has the biggest office than anyone has or ever will have? In His office, He has a filing cabinet big enough to hold a folder for every person on earth. In a separate folder, He keeps a record of everyone who has accepted His Son as his or her personal Saviour. He also keeps a record of all the kind words and kind actions of the person as well as all of the unkind words and unkind actions of the person.

I believe every morning that He opens His filing cabinet. When He checks the names and doesn’t see a check mark beside the name as being written in the book of life, His heart breaks and He weeps. He loves us so much, so much that He sent His only beloved Son to die for us. What amazing, undeserved and unconditional love from the heart of our Heavenly Father for us. Oh, how He loves us.

I think that there are two different colors of check marks beside our names. The color “red” for the ones who have been washed in the precious blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins and the color “black” for the people whose hearts are still black and stained with sin. Did you know that the color “red” is God’s favorite color because it represents the people who have said “yes” to His Son?

Is there a red checkmark beside your name or is there a black checkmark? Are you still hurting our dear Heavenly Father by rejecting His Son? What does He see when He looks at your file every day? Does He see that you have been an encouragement to people and have been kind and loving to your family?

As He looks at the amount of time you spent with Jesus, how much time does He see that you spent worshipping, praying and fellowshipping with His Son? I think that if He sees that you only spent an hour or two during the day with Jesus that it hurts Him. Does He rejoice when He looks at your folder or does it make Him sad to see the way you have neglected His Son?

If you have never admitted that you are a sinner and asked Jesus to forgive you for your sins and come into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I urge you to do it right now, even as you read this devotional. One day, it will be too late to say “yes” to Jesus.

In fact, even another hour may be too late for you to say “yes” to Him. Open your heart’s door to Jesus and let Him come in and be your Saviour. You will have a peace and a joy that you have never known and He will never leave you, not even for one minute.
