GOD’S FLOWER VASE

“I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.”

Song of Solomon 2: 1 King James Version

God has the most beautiful flowers in the world in His flower vase. These breathtaking and fragrant flowers are the beautiful rose of Sharon and the lily of the valley. These lovely flowers are our wonderful Saviour. Everything about our precious Saviour is beautiful. What a joy and what a privilege we have to be loved by Him and to have the friendship of this beautiful Rose. There are only twelve words in our Scripture verse today but these twelve words are powerful as they describe the fragrance and beauty of our Saviour.

My favorite flower is a red rose. When I look at a red rose, I am reminded once again of the sacrifice our loving Saviour made for us on the cross of Calvary when He shed His precious atoning blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Unless His blood has been applied to our hearts for the forgiveness of our sins, we are on our way to hell for all eternity. Instead of spending eternity with Jesus in Heaven, we will spend eternity in hell with satan.

There is nothing that we can do to atone for our sins. All the money we give to charities and all the good deeds we do for others can’t buy the unconditional love, mercy, grace and forgiveness of our Saviour. The only way to heaven is by the way of the cross. We must humble ourselves, admit that we are sinners and ask Jesus to forgive us and come into our hearts to be our personal Saviour.

Confessing with our mouths and acknowledging with our minds that Jesus died for us will never save us. His cleansing atoning blood that He shed for us on the cross must be applied to our hearts for the forgiveness of our sins. Our salvation is free to us, but it cost Jesus everything, His very life. Are you ready to go should Jesus come back for us today? Have you made your reservation for Heaven? Please don’t put it off as you may not have another hour to live.

Not only is Jesus the beautiful rose of Sharon, He is also the lily of the valleys. When we are in despair and have heavy burdens, He is there with us. Many times when we are in the middle of a crisis or difficult situation, we tend to become discouraged and allow satan to temporarily defeat us. If we will look with our hearts, we will see Jesus, the beautiful and precious lily of the valley, in the midst of the crisis waiting for us to call out to Him. He is longing to put together the shattered pieces of our lives but we must ask Him to help us.

Father, we give You thanks for Your flowers of love. We give You thanks for Your beloved Son who You sent into the world to die for us so that we might have the forgiveness of our sins. We ask You in the precious name of Jesus to please forgive us for all of the times when we fail You and hurt You. Help us to be children that You can be proud of when You look in our hearts. If there is anything in our hearts that is displeasing to You, we ask You to please show it to us so that we may repent of it before satan can use it as a weapon to destroy our fellowship with You. We love You, Father. We love You, Jesus. We love You, Holy Spirit. Thank You for all that You have done for us and for all that You do for us every day. Amen.
