God's Hospital Bed

“But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children.”

1 Thessalonians 2: 7 King James Version

I sleep in a hospital bed due to some cartilage being gone from my back. Most of the cartilage is gone from my knees. I am unable to have surgery as I don’t handle anesthesia well. I am unable to sleep on more than one pillow or put my legs on something because it hurts terribly. So, the doctor ordered a hospital bed for me. It is electric so when my legs are hurting or I need to put my head up, all I have to do is push the buttons.

Sometimes we carry a heavy burden in our hearts and we are not able to carry it alone. This is when we need to run to Jesus and ask Him to help us bear the pain. He uses people as His nurses to encourage each other and to share the burdens we bear.

I had a very heavy burden for a couple of months regarding a certain issue. Finally today, I shared it with a very close friend and she shared the burden and pain and now it doesn’t hurt anymore. All of us need one another. We all hurt in some area of our lives. We need to also remember that it is okay for a man to hurt and cry because Jesus wept.

If you are carrying a heavy burden in your heart today, ask Jesus to help you. Share it with someone you can trust; someone who loves Jesus and will give you Godly advice. Be certain when someone gives you advice that it lines up with the Word of God. Open your heart to your family and friends and share their burdens.
