GOD’S MAILBOX

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”

Luke 2: 10, 11 King James Version

God gave us the greatest news ever given when He announced the birth of His Son, Jesus. It was a day filled with joy, hope, love, and expectation. Many times when we take the mail out of our mailbox all we get are bills and sad news. What kind of mail does God get from us when He opens His mailbox? Is it full of complaints and pleas for help, or are there also letters of praise and gratitude?

Do we really hear the love letters that God gives us through His pastors, or are our minds focused on what we have to do the coming week? Do we take the time to write love letters to Jesus through our words and actions to people? The Bible says, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. (Matthew 25:40)

Believe it or not, there was a time in my life when I literally prayed for a bill to come in my mailbox because I felt so alone and discouraged. There are so many people who are hurting and desperately need to hear the good news that Jesus Loves them. Are we being faithful to call, email and write to our loved ones and friends?

Are we able to say to God that we have hugged and loved people to Jesus by our words and actions? Is God looking in His mailbox for a letter from you in vain? Has He received a letter from Jesus saying that you have been washed in the precious atoning blood of His Son?
