When we think of a ruler, we think of someone who has complete control. This verse says that we should let the peace of God rule in our hearts. So often, we are disturbed, angry, and filled with hatred. There is no peace in our hearts.
One of the songs that we sing at Christmas has the words, "Peace on earth, good will toward men". There will never be any peace in our homes, on our jobs, or in our schools unless we have the Peace of God, Jesus, in our hearts. Do you have this Peace in your heart?
This is a great gift that we can give to our family and friends for Christmas. We need to let others see the Peace of God in our words and actions. There are many people whose hearts and homes are in turmoil. If we have this Beautiful Gift of Peace, Jesus, in our hearts, then we can help others by sharing this Peace with them.
It would be a wonderful gift to give to Jesus on His Birthday if we would allow Him to take complete control of our hearts and let Him rule in our hearts like He desires to do. When someone has a birthday, we try to do everything we can so that person will have a wonderful, happy day. Let’s make Christmas, the Celebration of the Birth of Jesus, a happy and joyous day for Him.
