GOD’S PERMISSION

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

James 1: 5 King James Version

When we were children, we had to ask our parents permission to go places and do things. After we leave home, we no longer have to ask them for permission. It’s different with God; He is our Father whether we are young and living at home, or grown and no longer living with our parents. We still need to get His permission to go places and do things.

If we asked His permission for saying something, going somewhere, or doing something, we would not have as many heartaches and problems that we have now. Many times we don’t think before we say something and it’s too late to take it back. If we asked Him if it’s okay to say this, He might tell us no because it would hurt someone’s feelings.

Many times we go places without asking Him if we have His permission to go to those places. Maybe it’s because we know that He will say no to where we want to go. God is a Loving and protective Parent. He does not want us to go places and do things that He knows will hurt us. We ask Him for wisdom in our job decisions; we need to ask Him for wisdom in our daily activities and for the words we say to people.

Let’s start asking Him for permission before we say things, do things, or go places. We will not only stay out of trouble, we will make Him happy. God will give us wisdom for everything if we ask Him. All of us need His wisdom in our lives.
