God's Sheep

“Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”

Psalm 100: 3 King James Version

I received an email from a dear friend who told me that she would email me again as soon as she fed their sheep. It reminded me of this verse. We are God’s sheep and we need to be fed. We need to be fed by our pastors, by our Sunday School Teachers, by the Word of God, and by the love that we receive.

Jesus is our Great Shepherd and we are His flock. When we stray from Him, He pursues us until we are safely back with Him. He protects us from the dangers of this life. If we get lost and can’t find our way back to Him, He sends our families and friends to love us back to Him.

Sometimes even in the midst of the flock, we feel all alone. It is then that Jesus, in His great wisdom and understanding, puts His Loving Arms around us and holds us close to Him. I know that for me, I feel closer to Jesus when I am alone than when I am with someone. This is why I choose to live alone. I can shout and praise Him in the middle of the night without disturbing anybody.

Just as sheep need to be fed, so we need to be fed. Have you fed one of God’s sheep today? Have you told someone that Jesus Loves him or her? All of us need to know that someone cares and loves us. I urge you to feed His sheep with His unconditional Love.
