HAVE YOU BEEN ADOPTED

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

We criticize people who have placed their children for adoption. However, we don’t know why they had to make that difficult and heartbreaking decision. Sometimes due to circumstances beyond their control they have no choice in the matter and instead of judging them, we should be praying for them.

I had to make that heartbreaking decision to place my daughter for adoption. I was unable to take care of her emotionally and financially. Nothing has hurt me as deeply as the day I signed the papers at the adoption agency. Her name is April Dawn and she is twenty six years old today. I have not seen her since she was five months old. Her birthday is always a very difficult day for me because I love her and miss her so much.

While today is very sad for me because I can’t see her, it is also a day of rejoicing because I know that Jesus will protect her. I don’t know if she is alive or dead, but either way Jesus is faithful and is taking care of her. It took me over twenty years to give her completely to Jesus. One day I realized that He Loves her far more than I do and is able to give her Love, happiness, protection and forgiveness. I pray with all my heart that she has accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour.
