HIDING THE PAIN

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Revelation 21: 4 King James Version

When I was at the store this morning, it started raining. People were waiting for it to stop raining to go to their cars. They began to talk to each other. The thought came to me that if it had not been raining they would never have talked to each other.

I think one of the reasons why we are reluctant to start talking to strangers and even to our families and friends is because we are hiding pain in our hearts from something that was said to us. Also, it is very risky and scary to tell others how you are feeling emotionally as you may be judged, ridiculed and scorned. How sad that we have become so judgmental and critical when someone is hurting.

I heard a therapist say one time “Just get over it and stop thinking about yourself. There is always somebody else in worse circumstances”. When this man said this I thought to myself, that is a true statement however it does not erase the devastating pain you feel when you have been ridiculed and criticized. We hide our emotions because it hurts to have people make light of our situation.

If your heart is breaking today because of cruel and sarcastic remarks that have been made to you, take it to Jesus. He understands because people said cruel and sarcastic remarks to Him. He sees into your heart and sees the pain that you keep hidden for fear of rejection. He Loves you and is longing to comfort you. He will kiss away your tears with His Love.
