HIS DESK OF LOVE

“Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?”

Psalm 56: 8 - 13 King James Version

As He sits there looking at all the bottles of tears on his gigantic desk of love, His heart is moved with compassion for all the sorrow and heartache these bottles represent. He gently picks up the bottles that have our names on them and one by one He tenderly kisses each bottle. We have a Saviour who really cares about us. He cares when we are hurting. He longs for us to know the fulness of joy that He desires to give each of us. We read in Psalm 16: 11 “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore”. The only way we will have fulness of joy is to stay in the presence of Jesus.

There are times in our lives when sorrows and heartbreaking situations overwhelm us and the tears flow. Jesus catches every one of our tears in a bottle and keeps them as they are precious to Him. Then there are times when we are so moved over something that we have tears of joy. When I see a precious little baby or a little child look at me with a smile, my heart is filled with happiness and tears of joy flow down my cheeks.

These sweet and adorable babies and little children look at us with trust in their eyes. O that we would live up to their trust. They trust us to take care of them and see that nothing harms them. May we be like these dear babies and children and look at Jesus with trust in our eyes. How gracious, faithful and loving He is to take care of us. He supplies our every need and He even gives us things that we don’t need just because He loves us so much and wants us to be happy. The most important thing that He gives to us is the gift of salvation. It is free to us but it cost Him everything, His very life.

I have received emails from people who have told me that they are trying to do the right things to earn His love and be worthy of their salvation. There is nothing that we can do to earn His love. His love is an unconditional love and it comes from His heart of tenderness, compassion and understanding. None of us are worthy of His love and salvation and never will be worthy. It is His amazing grace and mercy for us that presents us to His Father. Thank God for the loving heart of our Saviour!
