His Mercy

“But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.”

Psalm 59: 16, 17 King James Version

This has been a morning of reflection for me on the mercy of God. As I was listening to Lynda Randle sing “I’m free from the fear of tomorrow, I’m free from the guilt of the past”, it brought to my mind how many countless times He has been merciful to me.

Years ago, I slept on the floor for two months because there wasn’t an extra bed at my friend’s house. I have been underneath a bed in a mental hospital frightened to come out for fear of being hurt. Jesus has filled my heart with His unconditional Love and flooded my soul with His Peace that nothing or nobody can take away.

He put a song in my heart, a song of praise to the Great I Am, the Saviour of the world! He took me from under that bed and put His arms around me and whispered softly in my ear “I Love you, Joanne”. He gave me a bed to sleep on so I don’t have to sleep on the floor anymore. He gives me food to eat, clothes to wear, fingers to type with, eyes to see with, and a mouth to praise Him.

I don’t care what you have done in the past, I tell you on the Authority of the Word of God that you are precious to Him. He Loves you and is not concerned about your past. He is only concerned about today. Ask Him to forgive you and then serve Him every day for the rest of your life.
