Sometimes we become very frustrated and we panic because we don’t think we will get something finished on schedule. I have been trying to record my writings for next month for a week but something always happened to prevent it. Yesterday, I felt a calmness and peace in my heart and I knew it was the day Jesus wanted me to record them. His timing is perfect and because it was in His perfect timing I was able to record the writings.
If we will wait on the Lord and on His perfect timing, we not only will do things the way He wants them done, we will have peace in our hearts. So many times we make plans that are not in His will and perfect timing for us. We need to consult Him the first thing every morning and ask Him what He wants us to do. It may be that He wants us to do something completely different than what we have planned for the day.
We not only should ask Him about our day; we should get His guidance about every thing in our lives. It is very important to seek His will about our jobs, our cars, our homes and everything else. Only when we are in the center of His will for us will we have peace in our hearts. We may be led to take a job that pays less than another job but it may be that Jesus will use us there to encourage someone who is hurting and lonely.
Are you in His will for your life? Do you wait for His perfect timing or do you just schedule your day without asking Him what He wants you to do? If you will wait on Him, you will have a productive day, a peaceful day, and a day that will please Him.
