I receive a lot of emails asking why God is not working all things together for good for them. We need to understand that there are two conditions that He has made in this promise. The first condition is that we must love God. We can say we love Him and do all kinds of good deeds and give our money away but He knows our hearts and He knows if we really do love Him or if we are just doing lip service to Him.
The second condition is that He calls us according to His purpose. So many times we make plans and do things without including Him or asking Him what He wants us to do regarding the situation. A couple of days ago I made a decision to do something without asking Him and He gently reminded me that He did not tell me to do that so I asked Him to forgive me and immediately carried out His instructions.
If we get so busy and take on so many projects that we don’t have time to talk to people, our service to Jesus is in vain and meaningless because the heart of Jesus is His Love for people. It is vital to stress this! Jesus said “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me”.
That amazing and unselfish Love in His heart is what enabled Him to walk that long and lonely road to Calvary and there to die on an old rugged cross for us. There is no doubt in my mind that no matter what He was doing if someone wanted to talk to Him while He was on His earthly mission that He stopped and talked to that person. Jesus was the busiest person there ever was or ever will be yet He made the time for people. We can’t give our accomplishments to Jesus but we can give Him the people that we have loved and hugged to Him.
O’ that we would carry out His command to love others with unconditional love. If you are too busy to take time for people, then you are too busy. Ask God to help you budget your time so that you will be able to do what He has called you to do; to take time for your loved ones and a world who is lonely and hurting.
