HIS SHELTERING WINGS

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”

Psalm 91: 1 – 7 King James Version

I have a beautiful figurine of doves and flowers sitting on my bookcase that my sister so lovingly gave me and every time I see the wings on those doves I’m reminded of the wings of the protection and love of Jesus. His wings are much larger than the wings on the doves. His wings cover the entire world. His love, mercy, forgiveness and protection are available to every person who will by simple child like faith humble himself or herself and invite the Christ of Calvary into his or her heart. There is nothing that we can do to deserve His wings of mercy, love, forgiveness and protection. All the money in the world can’t buy them and all the good deeds we do for others can’t earn them. They are a free gift from the heart of our precious loving Saviour.

If you counted all of the people in your life together that you knew really loved you, that love would not even hold a fingernail compared to the matchless, undeserved love of our Saviour for a lost and dying world. This amazing unconditional love from the heart of Jesus was given to us on that horrible and dark day when He died an agonizing cruel death on the cross for our sins so that we may be saved and live with Him in heaven for all eternity. He is our refuge and fortress and we need not fear because He will fight our battles for us. I received an email a couple of months ago from a person who said “If you are really saved, you won’t have any battles because Jesus defeated satan on the cross”. It is true that Jesus won the war with satan but we will still have battles with satan and violence as long as we are in this world; a world that has rejected the love of Jesus and is bringing shame and dishonor to His precious name.

Are you dwelling in the secret place of the most High and under the shadow of the Almighty? If you have never made a personal commitment to Jesus from your heart, then you are not in the secret place of the most High or under the shadow of the Almighty. You are lost in your sins and on your way to an eternity apart from Jesus. Every person must have a personal relationship with Jesus to enter into heaven. He holds the key to heaven and has the power to turn the key to keep you out. Only those who have been washed in the redeeming blood of Jesus will be allowed to enter and live in heaven with Him.

If you have never humbled yourself, admitted that you are a sinner and asked Jesus to forgive you and come into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I urge you; I plead with you to say “yes” to Jesus today! He will be the dearest friend you have ever known. He will never leave you, not even for a minute. You will have peace and joy and a happiness that you have never known. Nothing this world offers compares to the riches we have in the privilege of knowing Jesus and being loved by Him. You will never find salvation, real happiness, real peace and real joy in anybody or anything. They are only found in the presence of Jesus as He lives in your heart. Give your heart and life to the one who gave His life and His heart for you before it is too late!
