How Soon We Forget

“Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”

Exodus 17: 6 King James Version

I washed a load of laundry this morning. I was going to wash another load after this load was almost dry. Thankfully, I did not start the second load because when I turned on my water to wash my hands, there was no water. They are doing work on the road in front of the trailer park where I live and perhaps they hit something.

When all those terrible hurricanes hit us last year that caused so much property damage and devastation to people’s lives and hearts, we didn’t have electricity or water. I was so grateful when the water came back on because I felt so grimy from not taking a bath. The wet wipes are great, but they don’t take the place of water. I drank a lot of water for a long time.

Many times we forget all the wonderful things Jesus has done for us. When we are in a situation and it seems there is no relief, we sometimes ask God or think it, why aren’t You helping me. The same is true in our dealings with each other. We forget the kind things that have been said and done for us by our families and friends. Instead we dwell on the misunderstanding that we are having right now.

If your heart is dry from lack of love, turn to the only One Who can give you a Love that will never end. The Love of Jesus is Unconditional and Eternal. He will make the dry places in your heart to become a river of Joy, Peace, and Happiness.
