I LOVE YOU

“And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.”

Isaiah 54:13 King James Version

I was watching a family program this morning on television and it showed a dad hugging his son. The dad told his son that he loved him. There are tears in my heart as I am writing this devotional. When I was a child, I don’t remember either of my parents ever hugging me or telling me that they loved me.

Your children will never have real and lasting peace in their hearts until they have accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour. It is up to you, as parents, to not only tell them about Jesus, but to show them by the way you live your life that Jesus does make a difference. Of course, if you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, it will be impossible to love your children to Jesus. You must first have Jesus in your hearts before you can lead them to Jesus.

These three words “I Love You” are the most powerful words in any language. Yet, often they are misused. We should never tell someone that we love that person unless we mean it. There are people that use these words to get sex from someone. How that must break the Heart of Jesus! Sex is not love; it is a result of love between a husband and wife. People have sex all the time and sometimes don’t even like the person. It is just to satisfy their bodies.

Have you told your children today that you love them? More important, have your hugged them? You may not be able to hug them in person, but you can pick up the telephone or write them a letter. Please hug your children. I urge you, I plead with you to love your children to Jesus before it’s too late.
