Moses knew that he had to hold up his hands, but he grew weary and his hands became heavy. As much as he wanted to keep them up he couldn’t, so Aaron and Hur helped him hold his hands up. We desperately need friends like Aaron and Hur to hold up our hands.
Sometimes we become so weary in the struggles of our daily lives. Some people struggle with poverty, others struggle with family problems, and others struggle with their children. All of us need each other. There is no one who can make it alone in this world and that is why God tells us to encourage each other.
It is nice to have loved ones and friends to hold our hands up and encourage us, but we also need to be an encouragement to our loved ones, friends, and the world. We need to live our lives in such a manner that others will see Jesus in us and be encouraged.
Have you held up someone’s hands recently? Have you picked up the phone and called someone or sent an email of encouragement and hope? Have you told someone today how much Jesus Loves him or her? We sometimes really need a hug; have you hugged someone today?
