IT’S SCARY

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Judge not, that ye be not judged. But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

James 5: 16 Matthew 7:1 James 2: 9, 10 King James Version

Jesus has told us to confess our faults to each other and to pray for each other so that we may be healed. How many of us can honestly say that we confess our faults to someone? I think the reason why we don’t is because it is scary knowing that they may withdraw their friendship from us or judge us. Jesus has also said “Judge not, that ye be not judged.”

Many times we are quick to point the finger of guilt at someone else but bury our heads in the sand when it comes to our own faults. We condemn homosexuals but we never say anything about people who tell lies. In God’s eyes, sin is sin! Just as the practice of homosexuality stinks in God’s nostrils, so we stink in His nostrils when we tell a lie.

I think all of us are guilty of telling lies and don’t even realize it. When someone asks us how we are feeling and we say “fine” but we are sick, it is a lie. We need to stop judging each other and pointing the finger of guilt at people. Instead, we should point the finger at ourselves and make sure our hearts are in right standing with God. If Jesus comes back for us today, will you be able to stand before Him with a clean heart? Have you confessed all your sins to Him?
