IT TAKES JESUS

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Yesterday I received eight emails from people who are hurting and struggling to conquer some area in their lives. There is only one answer when we are hurting and His name is Jesus. He is the only one who can free us from bad habits. We are powerless to change ourselves no matter how hard we try or how much we want to change. I know this from personal experience.

I tried to overcome a bad habit for over twelve years and would get so depressed and frustrated when I would fail but Jesus has set me free from that bad habit. I was constantly condemning myself because I couldn’t do it. I finally realized that I was allowing satan to discourage me and by doing that, I was hurting Jesus. So I did what I should have done in the first place, I cried out to Jesus and asked Him to help me. When will we ever learn to go to Jesus immediately?

He said something to me that not only changed my way of thinking, it changed my life because I no longer worry about the situation or get depressed because I know that He will bring me to victory in His perfect timing. He said, “Stop trying to fix it. You are powerless to change yourself. Allow Me to take the frustration away and just trust Me”. Yes, we are human and will fall but He will be faithful to pick us up, walk with us and bring us through every trial and temptation victoriously if we will only trust Him.
