If we will listen, we will hear Jesus calling us. He is calling us first to repentance and salvation. He is also calling us to live a life that draws others to Him. Many times we harden our hearts to His call.
The greatest and loudest call He has given us was when He hung on that cruel Cross for us so that we might be saved. Unless we answer this call first, we won’t be able to answer the other calls because without Jesus in our hearts it is impossible to serve Him.
Sometimes He calls us to do things through something we hear or read. He uses other people to call us to do things for Him. He calls us through our Pastor. We need to keep our ears and hearts open to hear His call.
A pastor wrote in my guestbook that it was his prayer that these writings would some day become a daily devotional. When I read that, I thought that was a nice comment. However, in a couple of months, I realized that Jesus was calling me to send daily devotionals and He had used that Pastor’s prayers.
Have you answered the greatest call of all, the call to Salvation? Is your heart right with Jesus? If He were to come back today, are you ready to die? Give your heart and life to Jesus and open your ears and heart to His calling.
