There is a song with the words, “Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there”. So often we pick up our burdens again as soon as we say Amen. Instead of waiting for Jesus to act, we immediately start worrying about the situation again. No matter what trials we are going through or what heartaches we are enduring, Jesus is just a prayer away. He is waiting with a heart filled with love and His arms open wide to hold us close and kiss our tears away. He loves us so much that He died for us.
Jesus said in this verse “for I am meek and lowly in heart”. Sadly, there are some people who have the mistaken idea that they are perfect; that they can handle anything that life throws at them and that there is nothing they can’t fix. What an arrogant heart that is! Until we swallow our pride and humble ourselves and cry out to Jesus for help we will never have real peace, the peace that only He can give us; the peace that passes all understanding. The world can’t give us His peace and the world can’t take His peace from us.
In the last two days I have received twelve emails from people whose hearts are breaking. There is only one answer to a broken heart and His name is Jesus! He is the only one who can turn the darkness into light and put hope and joy back into our hearts. If you are hurting, tell it to Jesus. Go to Him in prayer and let Him comfort you as only He can. There is no friend like Jesus! No one loves like Jesus! All hail, King Jesus!! Worthy is the Lamb of God! He is the King of kings and Lord of lords!
