JUST A SMILE

“Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. While I was at the store today, I walked by a cashier who always smiles at me. She was busy and didn’t look up like she normally does when someone passes her register. I was disappointed because her smiles have encouraged me many times. As I was thinking about that, I realized that Jesus is disappointed many times because we are too busy to stop and talk to Him.

We need to understand that Jesus has feelings. His heart is broken when we hurt one another or when we reject Him. Jesus is there waiting for us as soon as we wake up in the morning. He is waiting for us all through the day and when we go to bed, He is still waiting for us to make time to fellowship with Him.

We wonder why we have days where everything seems to go wrong. It is because we have not put Jesus first before everything and everyone. If we would spend time with Him as soon as we wake up in the morning, our days would be filled with peace, happiness, joy and laughter. We will have trials and face obstacles during the day but if we have been with Jesus, we will be prepared for anything the world and satan hurls at us.

Have you spent time with Jesus today? Does He have first place in your heart and life, or does He have to stand in line and take a number or make an appointment? Have you made room in your heart for Him? One glorious day, He will return for us. Are you ready to meet Him? Is He the Saviour of your soul?
