JUST ONE WORD

“And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.”

Exodus 4: 10 King James Version

God had asked Moses to speak to the people and Moses used all kinds of excuses and it made God angry. We do the same thing today. God has told us to tell others of the Good News of Jesus and to spread His Love. However, a lot of times we say that we don’t know what to say, or are uncomfortable saying things.

I received an email last night in reply to a letter I had sent to the people on my mailing list. All that was in the reply was one word “wow”. That word said everything. I understood exactly what that person was saying to me. The person was saying “wow” what an Awesome Saviour we serve.

When I started writing, I didn’t know what to say. I can’t just sit down and write something. I have tried it many times, but nothing comes. I have to wait for Jesus to inspire me. However, I asked Him to please help me say what He wants me to say.

Moses wasn’t willing to talk for Jesus. Before we can do anything, we have to have the Power of Jesus motivating us. It does not matter what we are called to do, be it cleaning the church, cooking at the church, folding bulletins, preaching, singing, writing, or anything else He tells us to do, if we are willing to do it, He will help us.

Are you willing to open your mouth for Jesus? More important, are you willing to open your heart to the Saviour of the world? You can’t do anything for Jesus unless you first invite Him into your heart and then let Him control your life.
