KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS

"And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when we saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased."

Matthew 14: 25-32 King James Version

Jesus told Peter to come to Him, and Peter started walking on the water to Him. However, Peter did like we do, he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on his circumstances and got frightened. How many times do you and I do that very thing? We pray and ask Jesus to take control of something, and then we try to figure out how to solve the situation.

As soon as Peter said, "Lord, save me", Jesus immediately stretched forth his hand and caught him. Jesus does the same thing for us. When we are facing heartaches and problems, we ask Jesus to help us, but then we try to solve them ourselves. Jesus will help us, but we have to get out of the way and allow Him to do it His Way.

Are your eyes focused on Jesus today, or are they focused on your problems? Allow Jesus to save you with His outstretched hand.
